Delilah Counseling is a contemporary therapy practice for women and girls in East Nashville

our story

Delilah Counseling was founded by Andrea Santa Maria, in August of 2022. Andrea has always been passionate about creating an authentic space for women to connect with one another in a real and down-to-Earth way. In the beginning stages of her therapy practice, Andrea noticed that many of her clients were reporting multiple unsuccessful attempts to find a therapist who worked well for them. These clients expressed the need for tangible resources and goals, as they reported leaving previous counseling relationships because of the aimless, vagrant, and goalless nature of their care. Thus, Delilah was born to create a safe, authentic, and transparent space for women and girls to achieve their goals for self-improvement and self-awareness in therapy. We like to refer to this time as Delilah B.C., before Cille. Cille Martin, Delilah’s co-owner joined the practice in September of 2022 and immediately resonated with Delilah’s mission and began seeing a vision for Delilah’s future. Delilah Counseling is currently able to provide a therapeutic space to over 300 women and girls in Tennessee because of Cille’s vision and her impact on Delilah.

the Delilah model

therapists at Delilah Counseling prioritize clinical service and client well-being above all else. clinical service at Delilah is rooted in authenticity, transparency, open-mindedness, genuineness, empathy, and humility. at Delilah Counseling, clinical care is based on three foundational principles: goal-setting, tangible resources, and empirically-based modalities.

  • Goal-setting through diagnosing and treatment planning are at the heart of the client’s success in therapy. This ensures that the clinician and client are aligned in their understanding of the client’s intentions and expectations regarding the therapeutic process.

  • Tangible resources, such as worksheets, handouts, and other psychoeducational or therapeutic materials, are an integral part of therapy as they facilitate the client’s ability to utilize concepts and strategies discussed in therapy in their day-to-day life outside of the therapy space.

  • Utilization of empirically-based therapeutic modalities is imperative to the clinician’s conceptualization, approach, and success of the client in counseling.
